M. V Signa - understood to be built in the 1950's in Balmain Sydney and used as a working trawler on the harbour for many decades before being converted and repowered into what we see today.

A carvel planked timber raised deck cruiser with spotted gum below the waterline, Oregon topsides, spotted gum laminated frames and hull fastenings in roved copper nails. The sponson rails are covered with half round brass strips and a plywood anchor platform, plough anchor with chain, raised deck forward, plywood sheaved, cabin top and cabin sides are in plywood, cabin top teak deck head hand rails, helm hatch, helm floor and cockpit floor plywood covered with indoor/outdoor carpet, pacific maple combings, side decks are plywood sheaved, cockpit awning with stainless steel tube frame, teak swim platform, stainless steel chain supports, stainless steel swim ladder.

The interior has spotted gum frames, deck head and teak beams, plywood and Oregon painted, port and starboard side raised deck port-hole frames and lock catches, the floor is plywood covered with indoor/outdoor carpet, port side forward cabin plywood toilet door, toilet area and sink and main cabin louvered and painted door with plywood hatch.

The general finish of the raised deck timber cruiser is sound. It has been professionally built and does appear to be well maintained.

Described by the owner as "A great family harbour day boat". M. V Signa needs to be inspected to truly appreciate this classic Sydney timber trawler.
